In an extra inning thriller, the District 23 Big League All-Stars
battled back from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits, using 3 rbi's from Jack Schellin of
Canyon Hills LL to finally pull even in the top of the 7th inning and force the
game into overtime.
Following solid pitching performances from Bobby Ryan of Chino National LL and
Danny Martinez of Ontario Mountain View LL, Vince Difatta of Canyon Hills
pitched the final 4 innings to take the win. Difatta was also key with the bat
as a leadoff home run in the 9th inning gave the District 23 team the lead, and
an additional run was pushed across the plate as James Williams was cashed in
from 2nd base on a double off the bat of DJ Mares, both of OMV. |

Jack Schellin and crew belted out 13 hits to go with
10 free passes in defeated District 21 for the Section 8 title. A 7 run
third inning was the offensive key, as Mark Davis and Anthony Bracamontes
protected the lead from the mound. The lineup was
filled with activity, as nearly every player in the District 23 lineup produced
hits and/or runs, with Mike Orris reaching base safely 5 times and Zack Patton 4
times. But the night belonged to Schellin, who's 4 hits and 5 rbi's
started the attack in the first and completed it in the 6th with a homerun. |
